These works are based on and adapted from a cover illustration of Poems published by the Thomas Y. Crowell Company over 130 years ago. The original cover was lavishly decorated with intricate Victorian patterns, embossed gold leaf, black stamping, and gilded page edges.
These elements were incorporated into this work while also developing a variety of more colorful cover designs.
